Better day today

At least I got off close to on time :) AND Sarah is 1-2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. Gonna be loving up on a new grand daughter real soon!

2 hours of overtime to get my charting finished. . . lots of running, stress and more. My legs are not happy with me tonight. . . so much so, that I skipped Deana's concert.

Sarah says she's having lots of pressure and urge to void. Hmmmm. . . . hoping I get to hold a new grand daughter soon.

Frugal doings- on a Monday

Marty and I took back 2 packs of adult diapers that I'd bought for mom, when she was home for that one week. Meijer's gave us a gift card for the refund - fine by me, as they are having their 10 for $10 sale this week. We used the gift card to stock up some staples.

Used the gift card I got doing surveys to purchase the meat for the funeral dinner tomorrow, so no out of pocket expense for me there, either.

And came home to make dandelion jelly - I managed to pour the hot jelly over my hand, while filling the jars - but otherwise, it looks, smells and tastes great!

Just rethinking of some things I'd done in the past to save $$

Needing to save some major $$$$ here now, so rethinking of the things I used to do.

Hamburger - boil it, instead of fry. . .easier, less messy, less hands on time for me.
Drain and save the water - cool in the fridge, and use the fat for later cooking, the water for soups, etc.

Navy showers - get in, get wet - turn the water off. . . soap up, including your hair. . . then turn water on and rinse. Saves water, and sewer bills if yours includes water usage for the sewer fees.

Baking my own bread - kinda gotten away from this, but it saves money, and is healthier too. I think I'll get a sour dough started tomorrow.

Any other retro ideas, you do?
