What a roller coaster ride!

In ICU, out of ICU, in ICU, out of ICU. . .to the nursing home, back to ICU in the midst of tornadoes, heavy rains and fierce winds.

At this moment in time, mom is doing somewhat better. . . having BP and heart rate issues, developed a blood clot in her left leg. . . needing the bi-pap machine for 20 hours a day, etc.

I'm worn out-- physically, mentally, emotionally.

*sigh* Back in ICU

Mom's back in ICU today -- she started complaining of numbness in her left hand, feeling "shaky", then chest pains. . . she got gray, sweaty and her BP dropped to 73/40. So she's back in ICU and on a levophed drip.

I'm ready to get off the roller coaster.

Mom's out of ICU

Now we're trying to figure out nursing home placement that will work with an outpatient dialysis unit. . . whew!

She's still so very weak. . I have no idea how she'll manage at a nursing home, when she can't stand, can't talk above a whisper, etc. Having worked in EFC - I know how it can be.
